The Berlin University of Applied Sciences awards the 2021 Research Award to

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai-Uwe Barthel

High third-party funding acquisitions, numerous publications and international research collaborations have characterized the outstanding research achievements of Prof. Dr-Ing. Kai-Uwe Barthel for many years. His publications and demos have received several awards at renowned conferences, and the “Visual Computing” group he heads won an international competition in 2016. The next generation also benefits from the scientist's commitment: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Barthel supervises doctorates and founded Pixolution GmbH with Master's graduates in 2009, which makes an important contribution to the transfer of knowledge to industry.
